Troublesome Topic: WHAT IS BEING SAID ABOUT THE NEPHILIM, THE BOOK OF ENOCH AND THE COUNCIL OF THE GODS?

I want to make sure that we are all on the same page before I dive into details. In case you are not aware of the discussion that is going on about these three topics, here is an overview of what is being said.

Supposedly, the Nephilim were products of marriages between angels and human women (based  on interpretations of Genesis 6:1-4 found in the Book of Enoch); they were evil giants.

The Book of Enoch is given credence because about 1/5^th of it is part of the Qumran scrolls.

The Nephilim supposedly became the evil entities that necessitated the world-wide flood.

They say that some of the Nephilim survived the flood somehow and became the source of evil and suffering after the flood, including today. The Nephilim are said to be the reason people have addictions they cannot break, and the reason there is so much violence and misery on the earth.

 Apparently, they no longer look like giants, rather, they are the powerful influencers who are making life miserable for everyone else.

Or it is their demons that are with us today and causing havoc.

They are able to resist God and lead people into sin because they are part of the Council of the gods.

The theory goes that the God of creation is the most powerful God and presides over the council of the gods, but He does not act alone. The others also have power and influence, and the Creator God has not been able to totally vanquish or subdue the rest of the council.

There are a number of books on this topic and some of them say that Jesus was not part of the trinity; he was just a man that God called to be the Messiah. He did die for our sins, but not as God in the flesh, only as a human Messiah.
