Troublesome Topic: A Population Control Advocate’s Own Words Show What He Truly Believes

Here is a quote from Dr. Dennis Meadows who has been writing in favor of population control since 1972. He is a member of the World Economic Forum that is pushing the Environmental, Social and Governance Metrics known as ESG. This podcast can be found at https://www.theblaze.com/podcasts/daniel-horowitz-podcast, under the date 5/11/22 and the title “How the Covid tyrants created a cycle of chronic disease.”

“We are so far above the population and consumption levels that can be supported by this planet that I know in one way or another it’s going to come back down, so I don’t hope to avoid that.

I hope that it can occur in a civil way. And I mean civil in a special way, peaceful. Peace doesn’t mean everyone is happy, but it means that conflict isn’t solved through violence, through force. But rather in other ways. So that’s what I hope for.

The planet can support something like a Billion or maybe 2 billion depending on how much liberty and material consumption you want to have. If you want more liberty and more consumption you have to have fewer people.

Mercy, you can have more people, I mean we could even have 8 or 9 Billion probably if we have a very strong dictatorship which is smart; it’s, unfortunately you never have smart dictatorships. They’re always stupid. So, but if you had a smart dictatorship and a low standard of living you could have it, but we want to have freedom and a high sumps so we will have a Billion people.

And we’re now at seven so we have to get back down.

I hope that this can be slow, relatively slow, and that it can be done in a way which is relatively equal, ya know, so that people share the experience and you don’t have, a few rich, ya know, trying to force everyone else to, to deal with it. Those are my hopes. I mean, those are pretty optimistic hopes.”

To find the above quote, go to https://www.theblaze.com/podcasts/daniel-horowitz-podcast and scroll down to the date 5/11/22. It is part of an hour and ten minute podcast by Daniel Horowitz called “How the Covid tyrants created a cycle of chronic disease.” However, you will not find any written script of this podcast, only the audio. I painstakingly wrote down the quote from Dennis Meadows by stopping the audio every few seconds.

MY SUMMARY OF THE MOST IMPORTANT POINTS

Did you notice that he said we are at 7, meaning 7 billion people in this world. (At the time of his speech or interview in May of 2022 it was 7 billion. We are now at 8 billion as of July of 2023.)

He also said more than once we need to get down to one billion people (once he said “maybe two billion”). Therefore, Dennis Meadows is willing to eliminate as many as are needed to get down to one billion! But the number to be killed will keep climbing as the population of the world goes up. The most important number to him is the theoretical limit of one billion people.

The motivation behind eliminating so many people is to have higher levels of consumption and supposedly more freedom (how that last one can come simply by lowering the population of the world I do not know).

My Rebuttal to Dr. Dennis Meadows on Population Control

1.  Only God can give life and only God can take life. The entire Bible teaches us to value life; in contrast, many people today who do not believe that God exists, do not show proper respect for life and are even willing to eliminate many people through planned population control. Among all the population control plans I have ever heard, this one by the WEF is the most extreme (6 of every7 people eliminated). But they may have the power and the willingness to actually try to do it.

2. Dr. Meadows assumes that material things make people happy. I have seen enough poor people in Honduras, Nicaragua, and Mexico (having lived in each of those countries) to know that many poor people are more content than the average American. There are exceptions in each group, but this reality is so prevalent that a high percentage of people who visit those countries on short term mission’s trips comment about how happy those people are even though they don’t have much in the way of material goods. Stuff doesn’t make you happy.

3. Dr. Meadows is putting a certain lifestyle above life itself. He assumes that if you can’t live at a high standard of living with lots of modern amenities, your life is not worth living. What’s more he is willing to play God and eliminate people to achieve his goal of everyone having a high standard of living.

4. I think what Dr Meadows is doing, as well as Bill Gates and others, is letting the main-stream media know what he wants them to promote. In essence he is saying, “Here is the script, follow it.” He wants them to start pushing harder on the supposed need for population control and telling people they should be OK with it because it will be done peacefully, and the planet needs it.

5. If there is a true problem of overcrowding that brings about a lack of food, energy etc, we should let the natural tendencies of humans resolve it – people will naturally want to bring fewer kids into this world if they can’t feed the ones they have. I know that some unexpected pregnancies do occur (and I do not advocate for abortion) but in general, the trend in population growth will slow. I have already seen that happen with my own eyes in Central America where the average size of a family has decreased during my lifetime. There is no need to play God and decide who will live and die or create a sickness and let the sickness “decide” who will die.

Do We Have a Shortage of Food?

I know our planet can produce food for more people than what we have right now.

We do not have too many people to feed, we have a lack of people willing to be farmers.

We also have elite academics and media who overlook possibilities like contour farming, hydroponics, and farming of the seas for sea food.

Are We Running Out of Materials to Make Life Continue?

Certain minerals, like lithium used in batteries, are probably the limiting factor. So, in some ways we probably are running out, but we do not need to live in fear for the following reasons:

  • We can be creative and find substitutes. E.g. there are multiple sources of power, not just one.
  • We can make do without some material things, if need be, until other options can be found. Stuff does not make you happy; it just makes you want more stuff.
  • If you let the free market decide these things, the alternatives will be found by the producers as the price for the old versions of things become too expensive due to material shortages. Let the free market determine the results and these problems will be resolved without the need to eliminate 6 or 7 Billion people.
