1 Corinthians11:6

Previous Verse Next Verse

For if a woman is not veiled, she also should have her hair cut off, and if it is a disgrace to the woman to have her hair cut short or shaved off, she should wear a veil.

For if a woman refuses to show proper respect to the one in authority over her (her husband), it shows she is trying to be like the man and claims his authority. If your culture considers it a disgrace for a woman to claim a man’s authority or for her to become a prostitute, then she needs to show the culturally acceptable signs of respect for the authority over her (her husband).
