Where is the promise of his coming? For from the time our fathers fell asleep, all things continue as they were from the beginning of creation
Paraphrase
You keep saying he will come any time, so why hasn’t he come already? All I see is that from the time of our ancestors, things keep going on just as they have from the very beginning, with none of the big changes you predict. You must be lying.
