so that, according to the abundance of His glory, He might give you to be strengthened

Therefore, based on the Father’s amazing benevolence which shows how great He is, I pray that God will enable you to have the dominating strength to prevail using [His] energetic, enabling power at work in your innermost being, which is made a reality in your lives by the Holy Spirit that Jesus left in His place,

This Greek word means “to prevail with dominating strength, to gain mastery over, to gain the upper hand.” Its usage in the New Testament implies that this power comes from God, not human effort or ability.
