King Ahab’s wife is often seen as the most evil woman described in the Bible. Her name was synonymous with the worst possible evil. Jesus goes on to describe exactly what type of evil is in mind here.

To eat part of the meat that was sacrificed was a common ritual that accompanied the offering of said sacrifice. This was true in the Hebrew religion and in other religions. But not all the meat was consumed or eaten by the participants, so it was possible to eat such meat after the ritual of sacrifice was completely finished. To eat it afterwards would mean to condone what had happened, to eat it during the sacrifice would mean to participate in, or be engaged in, that ritual. In this case it specifically mentions food sacrificed to idols, not to the God of the Jews, and besides that, the temple of Jerusalem had already been destroyed in 70 AD, and there were not more sacrifices to God being performed. So if one ate food sacrificed to idols he was either condoning or participating in idolatry.
