Paraphrase

I value our relationship, my dear one, my very special dear one! Your love for me is more pleasing than the assurance of abundant prosperity,

your reviving freshness more pleasing than any other source of refreshing.

Footnotes

1: "My sister, my bride"

In an attempt to be accurate my rewording is not very picturesque. I considered using cute and catchy nicknames to communicate “close and closer,” but there is no way for me to choose a nickname that will connect with everyone. Whenever you see the word “bride” feel free to insert the favorite nickname you use for your wife, or your husband uses for you, depending on which role you are in.

2: "spices"

The name Basemath comes from this word. That is the name of the younger daughter born to Solomon by the Shulammite (if my theories are correct).
