Troublesome Topic: We are God’s Residence

As Christ’s disciples under the New Covenant God actually lives in our minds and inner beings. God has chosen to make us His house! That is an incredibly powerful concept, but one that brings with it heavy responsibilities. If ta world leader decided to visit our house, wouldn’t we want our “humble home” to be as close to “just right” as possible? So why do we get so “sloppy” about multiple forms of ungodliness from the things we view on a screen while God is trying to make our hearts His home? Giving God control of what happens in my kitchen and letting Satan sleep on my sofa is not an acceptable arrangement! One or the other will have to leave! If the Apostle Paul were alive today, he would speak to us as he spoke to the Corinthians,

1 Corinthians 6:19

Translation

Don’t you know that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, who you have from THEOS?

Also, you are not your own,

Paraphrase

Don’t you realize that your body is the house where the Holy Spirit of God lives? or that the Holy Spirit is a gift from THE CREATOR AND OWNER OF ALL THINGS to you and He is in you all the time? Also, you do not belong to you,

1 Corinthians 6:20

Translation

you were purchased for a price, therefore, glorify THEOS in your body, and in your spirit, which belong to THEOS.

Paraphrase

you belong to God who bought you with the price paid by the blood of Jesus, for that reason you should feel obliged to give THE CREATOR AND OWNER OF ALL THINGS glory by how you use your body, and by what happens in your inner being, both of which actually belong to THE CREATOR AND OWNER OF ALL THINGS.

Remember that God is with us in everything we do; don’t make Him cringe and hide His face while we do things that displease him. This principle alone should be enough to make us become much more careful about our use of TV, movies and the leisurely use of the internet, and give ourselves a serious, honest evaluation.
